Collective Advocacy Team Leader

36.25 hours a week (full time) (Mon – Fri)

Salary: £29,407 – £32,029 per annum

Starting salary £29,407  

Location: Based in the Collective Advocacy office, Norton Park, Edinburgh, however some home working will be permitted.

An exciting career opportunity is waiting for the right person in this new post of Team Leader for the growing Independent Collective Advocacy team.

You will assist the Collective Advocacy Manager by line managing some of the team and providing additional management support to autonomous staff who facilitate a wide range of experience led collective advocacy projects. These include, for example, people with lived experience of Personality Disorder, Psychosis, Trauma, Eating Disorders and people from the LGBTQIA+ community or from minority ethnic backgrounds. The work of the projects is driven by the people who are involved and so the activities and plans for each group are diverse, exciting and creative. The staff team are enthusiastic and multi talented with a range of skills and experience. This is an interesting new role and a great opportunity to join an expanding organisation that’s making a real difference to people’s lives.

Excellent communication and organisational skills will be required as well as experience in leading a small team. You will need a good understanding of how having mental health issues affects people’s lives and a belief in the power and importance of Independent Advocacy.

This post will be subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and appropriate check. There will be a 6-month probationary period attached to this post.
