We are excited about this years People’s Conference organised by the Lothian Voices collective advocacy group. This yearly event is by and for people with their own lived experience of mental health issues. This year the topic is “The Price of Recovery”.

The conference is free and includes a free lunch.

In the morning we will have a panel discussion. The first speaker on the panel will be Maggie Chapman MSP. Speakers from Home Energy Scotland, Changeworks, Nourish, and Edinburgh Coalition Against Poverty will follow.

These speakers will all briefly address the questions: “What is your organisation doing to help people in the cost of living crisis?” And “what are the gaps that need to be filled in order for people to get support?” Then there will be plenty of time for everyone to ask questions.

We are excited to announce that the morning panel of the People’s Conference will also be live streamed on Zoom and also recorded.

This will be on the 4th of November from 11am until 12.30pm.

So if you’re not able to make it in-person and you would like to join the People’s Conference this way, please send Molly an email on molly@capsadvocacy.org and she can send you the link for Friday. It should also be possible to send a recording of the event for you to watch at a later date, so let Molly know if you would like to receive a copy of this.
