What is Independent Advocacy

Volunteers needed!

We are currently looking for volunteers with lived experience of psychosis to join the Experiences of Psychosis Collective Advocacy group. This is an opportunity to raise awareness of psychosis and help people to understand what experiencing it is like. It’s a way to spend time working alongside people who have similar experiences and, as one person put it, ‘to be yourself in an accepting environment’.

Here’s what some volunteers have said:

“Nothing has felt as rewarding as the work I’ve done through CAPS. and how supported I’ve felt to contribute to the groups I do.”

“Affecting real change.”

“Getting to be around other people who are non-judgemental and empathetic.”

“To gain confidence working with others and presenting to groups of people”

“Getting involved with CAPS is an opportunity to be yourself in an accepting environment.”
